Hello, I am Elisabeth.

I have been an avid reader ever since my father took me to our local library at age six. Thank you, Dad!

I am also a grammar lover and lucky to pursue my passion as an editor & proofreader for a living.

While I am still working on my French, I am bilingual in English and German; I read, write, speak, and work in all languages on a daily basis. When I am not immersed in words, I am usually surrounded by yarn and knitting. Like reading, knitting has been a lifelong passion. Actually, I have so much yarn that I sell it. You can find out more on the Wolle’s Yarn Creations website.

I live in Central Virginia where I go Scottish dancing and do yoga.

My training and qualifications:

  • BA in English (Stetson University)

  • MA in English (Old Dominion University)

  • Associate Professor teaching English language and literature at Florida State University & University of the Virgin Islands, St Croix

  • Over six years of experience working with independent authors copyediting, proofreading, formatting, and publishing book manuscripts

  • Extensive knowledge of publishing and advertising books on Amazon KDP (Kindle e-books and printed books)

  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel and Google Docs

  • Vast experience writing and managing monthly email newsletters on Mailchimp and Squarespace for over 5K readers

  • Trained in Chicago Manual of Style

  • German certification as secretary (Diplom Sekretärin), a professional training that created my passion for precise texts, careful formatting, and accurate spelling (and, yes, I write German shorthand)

  • Successful business owner since 2009: wollesyarncreations.com
